Patient Care Liaison

Serves patients by greeting and assisting them; scheduling appointments; maintaining and updating EMR.

Patient Care Liaison Job Duties:

  • Welcomes patients and visitors with a warm, cordial greeting either in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. 
  • Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette.
  • Responds to patients’, prospective patients, and visitor inquiries in a courteous manner 
  • Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information 
  • Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone. 
  • Calls to confirm upcoming appointments with patients, as needed.
  • Facilitates patient flow by notifying the clinical staff of patients’ arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff.
  • Provides a comforting environment by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering questions, and maintaining a neat, clean, and organized reception area. 
  • Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies. 
  • Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records. 
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information. This includes verifying referring provider and PCP. 
  • Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information and recording and collecting patient charges. The Daily Cash Log should be updated at the end of each business day. 
  • Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; informing clinic director of need for supplies; scheduling equipment service and repairs. 
  • Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. Ensure protected health information (“PHI”) is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended. 
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Medical Assistant

Helps patients by providing clinical assistance in the offices and clinics of health care providers.

Medical Assistant Job Duties:

  • Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
  • Prepares patients for the health care visit by accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes, if necessary; arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment, and removing sutures and/or changing dressings at the direction of the provider.
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; reviewing medication list in detail; obtaining diagnostic reports and/or discs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
  • Provides patient education by providing upcoming procedure, medication, and diet information and instructions; answering questions.
  • Generates patient visit encounter in MediTouch by recording information obtained from patient’s clinic note.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Ensures equipment is in proper working order by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. This includes cleaning exam rooms and equipment with antiseptic wipes at the end of each clinical day.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
  • Serves and protects the physician or health care provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant

GCCSI is seeking to hire a Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant for the OR, who would also provide clinical patient care oversight for the CVICU as well as participate in the consultative and follow-up clinics in the practice. The successful candidate will be fully integrated into the team without midlevel hierarchy.

We offer a premium salary and benefit package as well as a generous CME allowance. For exceptionally qualified individuals, we also offer relocation expenses and a sign-on bonus.

Qualified candidates must be:

  • A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • NCCPA certified
  • Licensed or eligible for license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Florida
  • Able to show a minimum of 3 years Cardiothoracic Surgical experience in a mid to large volume program
  • Proficient in EVH
  • Experienced in endoscopic radial artery harvesting
  • Able to function as the 1st assistant in adult cardiac and thoracic surgeries
  • Experienced in post op critical care management of the cardiothoracic patient.
